What is Lean Canvas? The Lean Canvas is a one-page visual business plan that’s ongoing and actionable. It was created by Ash Maurya, and inspired by Alex Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas. It consists of nine boxes organized on a single sheet of paper, designed to walk you through the most important aspects of any business. The Lean Canvas is fantastic at identifying the areas of biggest risk and enforcing intellectual honesty. When you’re trying to decide if you’ve got a real business opportunity, Ash says you should consider the following: 1. Problem: Have you identifid real problems people know they have? 2. Customer segments: Do you know your target markets? Do you know how to target messages to them as distinct groups? 3. Unique value proposition: Have you found a clear, distinctive, memorable way to explain why you’re better or different? 4. Solution: Can you solve the problems in the right way? 5. Startup

A  startup company  or  startup  or  start-up  is an  entrepreneurial venture  or a new  business  in the form of a  company , a  partnership  or temporary organization designed to search for a repeatable and scalable  business model . [1]  These companies, generally newly created, are innovation  in a process of  development , validation and research for target markets . The term became popular internationally during the  dot-com bubble  when a great number of  dot-com companies  were founded. [2]  Due to this background, many consider startups to be only tech companies, but this is not always true: the essence of startups has more to do with high ambition, innovativeness,  scalability  and growth.

What is Equity ?

In  accounting  and  finance ,  equity  is the difference between the value of the assets / interest  and the cost of the liabilities  of something owned. For example, if someone owns a car worth $15,000 but owes $5,000 on that car, the car represents $10,000 equity. Equity can be  negative  if liability exceeds assets. In an accounting context,  shareholders' equity  (or stockholders' equity, shareholders' funds, shareholders' capital or similar terms) represents the equity of a company as divided among individual  shareholders  of  common  or preferred stock . Accounting shareholders are the cheapest risk bearers as they deal with the public. [1] Negative shareholders' equity is often referred to as a (positive)  shareholders' deficit . For the purposes of  liquidation  during bankruptcy ,  ownership equity  is the portion of a business's equity which remains for the owners after all liabilities have been paid and all other creditors have been reimbursed
